Hot chocolate, silk scarves and cute booties; yes, fall is finally upon us. And as much as we will miss sunning on the beach, we’re more than willing to give Fall a chance. After all, the slight nip in the air, statement coats and delicious pumpkin pies, are good enough reasons to make us straight-out Fall converts.

However, just like we switch up our wardrobe in favour of more ‘Fall-friendly’ pieces, now is also a perfect time to amp your makeup routine and attune it with the brand-new weather.

SKIN

As the days turn cooler, skin starts feeling dry and lacklustre. Our favourite way to combat this is by choosing breathable formulations with moisturizing ingredients to give your skin an extra boost of hydration, it so desperately needs. We love gel and liquid foundations that sit lightly (not cakey) on your skin; and while matte products are great for the summers, fall demands something with a bit more ‘glow’ for a naturally luminous finish.

 

EYES

Adios, boring neutral eyeshadows, hello glossy lids. Quite easy to achieve, all you need is a liquid eyeshadow with shimmery or metallic elements (not glittery) for a super glossy finish. Apply with your finger, making the color as opaque and sheer as possible. What we really love though, is a good ol’ smoky eye; but not just any smoky eye, ­­honey. The Fall version is totally wearable AKA deep bronze and brown shades to deepen your look without going uber dramatic. You can throw in pops of jewel tones such as emerald, sapphire and dark garnets to mimic the shades of fallen leaves—very Fall appropriate. Don’t forget to smudge it to a chic, sexy finish.

 

CHEEKS

We have nothing against a natural flush; just that cooler months beckon hues that add that extra warmth and depth to your complexion.
