FACE MISTS THAT ARE TOTALLY WORTH YOUR MONEY

It took me a minute to come around to face mists, which—let's be honest—may appear to be nothing much more than atomized H20 to many of you. In short, a total waste of time and money. But hear me out: the ones you’ll see here are brimming with skin-loving ingredients, calming Rosewater, and even water from the French Alps. Just ONE spritz on my just cleansed and bare face was enough to change my life (and skin) forever. How you ask? Well...it instantly makes me feel revived, comes to my rescue at work when all I want to do is a nap after lunch and cools, soothes and hydrates my complexion when I need a midday pick-me-up. Ahead, a bunch of facial mists that you are bound to love: 1. AVENE THERMAL SPRING WATER Think of it as water, but with supernatural powers. It’s packed with skin-softening silicates and has a balanced dose of Calcium and Magnesium that work together to improve skin's texture and strengthen its barrier. Plus, its pH level of 7.5, ma...

10 Self-Care Valentine’s Day Tips

Why should couples have all the fun on Valentine's Day? If you're single on V-Day, show yourself a little love with this simple self-care routine. It’s February, the month of love, roses, and chocolates. This Valentine’s, why not do something special for the most important person in your life – you! It’s time for self-care. We are all so busy trying to meet deadlines, taking care of our families, keeping our homes running, and staying in touch with our friends that we neglect to take care of our needs. What most of us don’t realize is that when we take care of ourselves, we become better equipped to handle anything life dishes out. We become more productive at work, and we can care for our loved ones better. You'll be feeling the self-love in no time!

Valentine’s Day is notoriously thought of as one of the worst days of the year for anyone who's single. But really, who said it had to be that way? Feb. 14 is just another holiday, and it only holds as much significance as you give it in your mind. Unfortunately, if love is bringing you down, it can be hard to feel good on Valentine's Day, no matter how much you want to. That's why self-care tips for Valentine’s Day are so important, you deserve to feel good about yourself and to have a great day no matter what!

So how can we take care of ourselves better? Here are some self-care tips for Valentine’s Day:

Hang Out With Your Friends

You don't need to be alone on Valentine's Day if that's going to leave you feeling miserable. Instead, try to make plans with a friend or a few friends. And no, it doesn't have to be a "Galentine's Day" celebration — although it certainly can be if you want it to. Otherwise, plan something low-key but fun: go out to dinner, see the movie you've been wanting to see, have them over for a glass of wine and Netflixing, or just grab some coffee. As long as you're all having fun, that's all that matters.

Treat Yourself To A Gift

Who says you can't buy yourself a heart-shaped box of delicious chocolates? Or that you can't treat yourself to a beautiful bouquet of flowers? Even if you don't want a cliche Valentine's Day gift, you can get yourself something you have been wanting, like that new sweater you've been eyeing or a pair of shoes you love. It might sound silly, but sometimes getting yourself something like that is nice.

Meditate, Or Practice Yoga

You should definitely take some quiet time to yourself to reflect, shut your brain off, and destress. Wake up a little earlier than usual to get a good start to your day by doing a short meditation session. It will put you in the right frame of mind to take on the day and relax you. You can also try yoga, which is a great way to destress, or just do any kind of exercise to make yourself feel awesome.

Do Something That Makes You Smile

The best kind of self-care makes you feel good and keeps you smiling. But it's different for everyone! One person may feel great after reading a book, other people might need to do something more adventurous, like going for a hike. Whatever makes you smile, make time for it!

Do Something That Helps You Destress

If you're feeling like you need to let off some steam, then do that. Maybe you need to let out some anger or sadness — it's totally OK to feel these things and not feel all empowered and happy. Do what works for you. Exercise is a great and healthy way to feel better and let go of negative emotions. Listenings to soft songs is a fun way to destress.

Pamper Yourself

Another way to treat yourself is to have a bit of a spa day. If you can swing it, go to an actual spa for a facial or massage (or both!). Get your nails done or get a nice pedicure. Or, if you want, just go home, run a bath, light a candle, put on a face mask, and zen out.

Enjoy Your Meal

A lot more people are eating their meals while doing something else. You probably have eaten a breakfast burger while driving to work or munched on fries while finishing a report. Stop denying yourself the pleasure of enjoying a healthy meal with good company, even if that company is just you. Make it a point to have several meals a week where you eat without the distractions of work or your smartphone.

Make a List of Your Accomplishments

People love making “to-do” lists but don’t recognize what they have successfully done. Make a habit of taking some time at the end of the day to make another record, but this time it’s about everything you’ve accomplished. Did you run faster or farther? Made a nice meal? Finally, touched base with your best friend? It might seem like a small thing, but tiny things accumulate to something great.

Bust a Move

Endorphins are your friends, and they’ll only appear when you’re active. It’s why some people love going to the gym or become addicted to the runner’s high. You don’t have to run a marathon or sign up for a CrossFit class to achieve this though. Any form of physical activity will be good for you. Spend an hour or two gardenings, take a walk with your dog, or learn a new dance. Just get out there and bust a move.

Retreat From Technology

Technology has insinuated itself into almost every corner of our lives. Thanks to smartphones, Facebook, and other social media sites, we’re bombarded with emails, calls, messages, and demands from friends and followers. Try to unplug and retreat from technology at least once a week. Even if it’s just for a few hours, switch off that smart device or stay away from your laptop. Don’t answer messages or look at any social media sites.

It’s time for you to stop existing and start living. Self-care is the first and most essential step to that. Love yourself and prioritize your self first. When you take good care of yourself, it will radiate outward and positively affect everyone around you. You’ll also be in a better place – mentally, emotionally, and physically – to handle anything life throws at you.

Now go ahead and have the greatest Valentine’s Day for your self!
